Terms & Conditions

These terms outline the rights, obligations and responsibilities of Sideline Removals ("we/us/our") and the customer ("you/your"). Please read carefully before booking any services.

Introduction

These conditions explain the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of all parties to this agreement. They can only be amended by written agreement. Insurance is strongly recommended to cover goods or premises as liability is limited in Clauses 8–11.

1. Our Quotation

Quotes exclude insurance, customs fees, taxes and other charges unless stated. Quotes remain valid for 28 days. Additional charges may apply for delays, weekend work, parking fees, inadequate access, or other circumstances outside our control.

2. Work Not Included

Unless agreed in writing we will not dismantle furniture, disconnect appliances, lift flooring, or move items from unlit/unfloored lofts. Customers should arrange qualified professionals if required.

3. Your Responsibilities

You must arrange insurance, obtain necessary permits, be present during collection/delivery, sign documentation, protect goods in unattended premises, and provide correct contact details. Refrigerators must be emptied and defrosted; all appliances cleaned and drained.

4. Goods We Cannot Move

Dangerous items (gas bottles, paints, firearms), valuables (jewellery, money, electronics), perishable goods, animals, and items requiring special licences are excluded unless agreed in writing.

5. Ownership

You guarantee ownership or authority to move the goods and will indemnify us against claims if this is untrue.

6. Cancellation

Cancellation fees apply based on notice given (up to 75% within 24 hours). A waiver is available if purchased in advance.

7. Payment

Payment in full is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed. Late payments accrue interest at 4% above Bank of England base rate.

8. Our Liability

Unless agreed otherwise, liability for loss or damage is limited to £50 per item. We recommend separate insurance to cover full replacement value.

9–15. Other Key Points

  • Damage to property: limited to making good the damaged area.
  • Exclusions: no liability for fire, explosion, Acts of God, infestations, or pre-existing defects.
  • Claims: must be reported within 7 days of delivery.
  • Delays: not liable for delays outside our control.
  • Storage: unpaid goods may be sold after 3 months' notice.
  • Termination: we require 3 months' notice to terminate storage; you require 10 working days.
